We are so lucky to be able to roast and offer this beautiful coffee from Bolivia. Caranavi, the prime specialty coffee growing area of Bolivia is essentially cut off from the rest of the world, with 90% of its area being occupied by untouched forest. The terrain is steep, rocky and rugged, making for logistical challenges unseen in other producing regions of the world. The result is one of a kind, and this lot represents 5 producing families from the Bolinda municipality. The majority of cherry is from Typica stock, likely with some other varieties inter mixed. The cup profile is delightfully juicy, sweet, and medium bodied. The aftertaste holds something particularly unique to me, a sort of sugared-spice mixture where caramelized sugars enhance all other perceived notes.
